Welcome to MenoThrive! Because your latter years should be a time to shine and thrive not pause!
Perimenopause can feel like the end of your joy, energy, and excitement. That was me. When I was growing up, no one talked about women’s health in my family. My grandmother was born in 1896 and my mother in 1922—both were raised during times when topics like menopause were barely acknowledged and definitely not openly discussed so I had no firsthand guidance on what to expect. So And when perimenopause hit in my late 30s, I felt blindsided.
Depression, anxiety, night sweats, brain fog, joint pain and stubborn weight gain became my new normal. Despite my upbeat personality and deep faith, I often wondered, Why does life feel so hard all of a sudden? One of my worst symptoms actually landed me in the hospital, rushed in by ambulance for an overnight stay. It was terrifying—and completely avoidable had I known what was happening to me and how to manage it. That moment was a wake-up call. I realized I had to take control of my health, educate myself, and find real solutions.
One of my favorite Bible verses, Haggai 2:9 says “The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house.” I’d been taught that our latter years were meant to be filled with fulfillment, joy, and abundance. But in those difficult moments, it was hard to see how that promise applied to me or if I
would I ever enjoy my later years? Slowly, things began to change. I prioritized my health, sought out answers and started to understand my body in a way I never had before and discovered many of my symptoms had pretty simple remedies, most of which included taking the right supplements.
Throughout this journey, I’ve come to see menopause not as an ending but a new beginning—a chance to embrace resilience, lean into my faith and navigate this season with confidence and grace. No woman should have to suffer in silence.
And with the right knowledge and support, we don’t just have to just survive menopause—we can truly thrive
